The 2020 Covid pandemic forced everyone into lockdown. LA based guitarist Sean Rosati decided to take advantage of his newly- acquired downtime and record that EP he’s been having ideas about for years. As an artist that grew up on RnB music and hangs his hat on versatility, he deliberately wanted his first EP to cover a handful of different stylistic idioms, while maintaining his love for melody, and phrasing.

“Bout to head out” has a smooth groove, and catchy melody. The title comes from the words Rosati often uttered on most LA nights, pre-Covid. “Drip” is a memorable chord melody featuring Bassist Matty Taylor/BillyDiisko who provides a contrasting bassline melody to the main guitar chord melody. “Sativa” has a feel good, backyard cookout type of feel which illustrates Rosati’s love for classic soul music. And “Emergence”, is a song that shows a more aggressive and heavier side to Rosati’s usual smoother playing. Rosati appears to close out the EP with “Beyond” an abstract ballad that leaves the project on an unresolved note, while leaving one thing quite clear: there is more music ahead and this is just the beginning.
